Will proceeded to tell me that for the last week he will be looking at someone and then all the sudden they aren't in that spot anymore. My heart sank...I knew he was having seizures again. When we got to the doctor they asked Will about what he had said in the car. He was really reluctant to say anything, but finally opened up to the doctor. He said that he had been having them for a week or so, but didn't want to tell me or Terry because he didn't want it to make us sad or think that he was cheating on his diet. Immediately my heart broke! I mean, come on! He is six! How can he have that much understanding or compassion that he didn't want to say anything in fear that it would make us sad?!
After discussing this with this doctors, and seeing that his ketone levels were basically none existent, they stated that it was a really good possibility Will was having seizures again. The good thing was that they didn't seem to be happening that often, didn't involve jerking as his normal seizures did, and he still seemed to be in good spirits. The bad thing was that we needed to get a handle on this before it got worse. This meant that we were increasing his ratio from a 2:1 to a 2.5:1.
Of course, I would do anything, change anything, and go without sleep once again in order to change our many recipes already in the Keto Diet Calculator to this new ratio. We have a plan, and we have faith in God that we will get this under control... and fast! More fat and even less carbs...let's get started...
